Food has the power to bring people together, enriching people’s lives through nourishment and interconnectedness.
Inner-city Sydney suburb Eveleigh has always been a place of gathering. In pre-colonial times Southern clans would meet upon this significant site to do business with the Gadigal. Much feasting, ceremony, and conversation took place, with this area being a central meeting point and major place of trade.
Join Kylie Kwong at South Eveleigh, for a celebration of stories, poetry, singing and food—together with artists and communities including local Indigenous Elders Aunty Beryl Van Oploo (Kamilaroi Nation) and Aunty Ali Golding (Biripai Nation), Café of the Gate of Salvation a cappella gospel choir, Yerrabingin, Sara Mansour of Bankstown Poetry Slam, OzHarvest, and DOBBY.
